Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world, which is located a short distance to the west from Everest and Lhotse within the Khumbu's North-eastern region of Nepal on the Tibetan border. Its soaring peak stands with Everest as well above the encompassing mountains. It became a well-known landmark to climbers ascending Mount Everest’s north face. West from Cho Oyu is Nangpa La, the most mercantilism route between Solukhumbu, Nepal and Tibet China.
