Every Hindu is supposed to visit the miraculous Muktinath temple at least once in their life time. Thus, thousands of devotees pay homage to Muktinath each year in search of freedom from the vicious circle of life and death. Along with Hindus, Muktinath temple is equally revered by Vaishnavas and Buddhists and thus Muktinath is an epitome of religious tolerance. Buddhists call Muktinath as Chuming Gyatsa which signifies the 108 water sprouts that are available in the Muktinath temple premises. Action Himalaya Adventure offers Muktinath Pilgrimage Lodge Trek as 11-days itinerary. We will leave Kathmandu and take 5hrs of drive through Prithvi Highway to Pokhara. Enroute, we will enjoy views of Manakamana Cable Car, Trishuli River, Mountains and paddy fields. One hour of drive will take us to Nayapul from where our trekking begins. We will walk through forest and settlements of Tirkhedhunga, Ghorepani, Tatopani and Kalopani to Jomsom. The trail continues through the barren moonscape that offers views of Nilgiri, Tukuche, Dhaulagiri peaks. Brief walk along Kali Gandaki River takes us through Eklebhatti village to Kagbeni. The trail escalates to Muktinath which is the scared temple that is of prime importance to both Hindu and Buddhist devotees. We will walk past the Mani walls and the Buddhist monastery of Gompa Sambha to the temple of Lord Shiv- the Lord of Salvation. Muktinath Temple premises hold total 108 water sprouts. Taking bath in these water sprouts is believed to cleanse the sins of devotees that are committed in this life. We will lower down to Jomsom and take flight back to Pokhara. Connecting flight from Pokhara takes us back to Kathmandu from where you will depart for your next destination.
