Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek is the rare opportunity to travel through the desolate lands of North Eastern Nepal to the foothill of Kanchenjunga Mountain (8586m) which is the third highest mountain in the world and second highest mountain of Nepal. Kanchenjunga is the Tibetan term that means ‘Five great treasure houses of snow. Kanchenjunga Mountain exists in the border between Nepal and India. Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trekking Route passes through several highland villages of Rai and Limbu ethnics that have preserved their ancient cultures and traditions with unflinching faith. Pass through the meadows of lush green vegetation, walk through boulder valley, climb the rocky hills and enjoy the soaring panorama, cross rivers, walk through the low valley and mirk sub- tropical forests that greets you with the blooming rhododendrons that give the array of colors to the woods.

Action Himalaya Adventure (P.) Ltd. currently offers 21days Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek. Leaving Kathmandu, we will take 50minutes of flight to Biratnagar. Taking the drive from Biratnagar will take us to Suketar of Taplejung district from where trekking in Kanchenjunga Base Camp begins. We will move from Jogidanda hill to the dispersed settlement of Chirwa. Crossing the suspension bridge and continuing the trail will take us to Sakathum.

We will traverse the meadow and arrive at Amjilosa from where the trail passes through Buddhist Gyable village to Ghunsa. Salt trade is the chief occupation of locals of Ghunsa. We will pass yet another Buddhist village of Khambachen and pass through Lonak to Kanchenjunga Base Camp. After enjoying panoramic views of mountains from Base Camp of Kanchenjunga, we will retrace our route back to Suketar from where we will reach Biratnagar and take the flight back to Kathmandu.
