"The newly open trek in Nepal, Pikey Dudhkunda Trek is an adventurous trek into the lower Everest region. Dudhkunda which is translated as Milky Pond is located to the front of colossal Numbur Mountain. Dudhkunda is the religiously significant lake. Great ceremony is held every year in Dudhpokhri in the month of august whereby Buddhist and Hindu devotees from far and wide visit the sparkling lake to take bath and cleanse their body off of sin. Follow the trail along the forest of blooming rhododendrons and other alpine flowers and walk through the dispersed Sherpa villages to Dudkunda Lake. Walk through valley of moraines to Pikey Peak. Pikey Hlapchen Karbu festival is celebrated every year in the month of july. Locals ask for blessing for the welfare and prosperity of family from the Chabyo Pikey deity in this festival. The journey continues through rivers, valleys, woods and meadows to summit of Pikey Hill. Along with best sunrise view, Pikey Peak also provide panoramic views of Mount Everest, Annapurna, Makalu, Gaurishankar, Kanchenjunga, Numbur, Karyolung, Mera peak, Shisapangma, Nuptse, Thamserku, Amadablam, Lhotseshar and other Tibetan mountains. Pikey Dudhkunda Trek itinerary at Action Himalaya Adventure Pvt. Ltd. is 17-days adventure package. From Kathmandu, we will take 8-hours of drive to Bhandar and begin the exciting trek. 7hrs of walk from Bhandar will take us to Goli (2980m). The trail progresses through colorful woods to meadow at Ngaur (3350m). We will walk through the rocky trail to Pikey peak base camp (3350m) from where the route lowers down to Junbesi (2670m). The trail continues through the bank of Saharsabeni (3340m) to Dudhkunda (4190m). After taking ritual bath in the sparkling milky water of Dudhkunda, we will reach to Phaplu village (2470m) through Sarkari Pati (2860m). 35minutes of flight from Phaplu village will take us to Kathmandu."
